The word of the day is enahoro, which is a word in some Ghanian native language meaning to throw one's room-mates out in order to have some private time with a partner. I learnt this by reading the research proposal of someone who wants to do a PhD in the linguistics of how native languages influence local English slang.

And yes, I am working on my own proposal, but this was too good not to post. Also, apologies for not posting much public recently. I don't want to talk about work stuff in public posts, and work is taking up lots of my life just now, between the temp job I'm working 35 hours a week, and applying for real science jobs.

I should take more care to remember that many people find the term pervert offensive. I should therefore stop to think before I use it.

For the record, I am the last person in the world to get all moralistic and judgemental about what consenting adults do in bed or anywhere else. This is incredibly obvious to me, but not everybody knows me and it's very possible I am accidentally offending people. That's bad.
